Jessie Artigue has not just one, not two, but THREE extremely successful web platforms. From Style + Pepper to Pepperologie to Marriage is Funny, this fashion-forward savvy city-girl eats, sleeps, and breathes success. Jessie and her husband may in fact be America's cutest, most blatantly-honest and hilarious couple. Their podcast about marriage being - yes, funny - is lively, encouraging, and authentically raw.

Jessie and her mister jump between Long Beach, California and New York City. If Jessie seems familiar, it's probably because you've seen her on the news, which she often frequents to offer the latest styles and trends as a consultant on various outlets.

Jessie was kind enough to give m&h her inside scoop on marriage and life. Let's dive in with Jessie Artigue!

Tell us a bit about yourself!

I currently live in Long Beach, California with my sweet husband Gerard and our rescue-pup Sadie. I work as a lifestyle expert and on-air host, but I am most excited by the chance to connect with women who want to blend their faith with a flavorful life. I’ve been blogging for eight years on my site called Style + Pepper, but currently spend most of my time hosting/producing a podcast with my husband called Marriage is Funny and mentoring women through the lifestyle design approach I created called Pepperologie.

Was it love at first sight for you & your hubby?

We had the same group of friends in college, but the first time we met — I couldn’t stand him! I was watching TV at his apartment (my best friend was one of his roommates) and he came in and started folding his laundry VERY noisily. (Didn’t even know that was possible until I met him!) I rolled my eyes and wrote him off instantly, but we eventually became close friends and started dating over a year later.

How do you keep marriage fun?

Three main ways: Daydreaming together, taking adventures + pursuing shared projects. Experiencing new things together (or even the IDEA of new things) has brought about so much joy in our relationship, and we’ve learned that carving out the time/money/intention for each of these things is a huge priority.

Best advice for the first year of marriage?

Don’t expect anything to be perfect, but instead plan to cling to each other in the name of Great Love. Also: Listen to our podcast so that you have proof that you’re not alone. :) LOL

What should women look for in a man?

I’m so thankful I ended up with someone who helps me be better at loving others AND myself. We truly are a great team and like to say that finding each other means we’ve been blessed in order to be a blessing together.  Neither of us would be nearly as effective at making an impact without the unique skills or personality or heart of the other person.

How can women prepare for marriage?

Oh man, I could say SO many things about this one — To oversimplify: Remember connection is key and messiness is completely normal.

Plans for the future?

Always daydreaming and planning for exciting new things ahead! As it relates to marriage, Gerard and I are excited to continue hosting our Great Love Getaways in Mexico, and we have our fingers-crossed for a larger couples retreat in the US during 2017!
