Milk and Honey Magazine knows Jesus has a divine plan for all young women to love, serve, play, laugh, and work for God's Kingdom. He has a special mission for you, darling, just like the Bible character Esther!

Your ♚ Was Planned

"For if you keep quiet at this time... you and your father’s house will be destroyed. You likely became queen for such an opportune time as this!" Esther 4:14

God has a divine calling on your specific life; a call to love, serve, laugh, play, and work... the very things Jesus did during His 33 years as a man. God places each of us into a particular situation (through our family, circumstances, country) culminating into our sphere of influence. We can all reach a different people group, be it our friends, neighbors, parents, etc.

God doesn't recruit us to be His daughters without planning our calling. He knew exactly who we were, where we were headed without Him, and where we're headed now that we're WITH Him. He called us by name to be a member of His Kingdom, adopted directly into His royal family, to use the gifts and passions He's blessed us with to worship Him and share His goodness.

He calls. The problem is that not all of us pick up the phone to answer that call.

How do we hear the ringing, you ask? Quite simply, dear, through spending time with Him, our Father. Spending time away from the hustle and bustle of social media and reality television and worries of tomorrow. Jesus was a prime example of this, as He would nightly slip away into the wilderness far from even His own apostles for alone time in prayer.

The above Bible verse reflects a young, newly minted queen (former commoner) named Esther who's approached by her Jewish uncle explaining how her own people would be killed for their faith. What he tells her, in a nutshell, is "God put you here, sweet girl, because He knew you would act. He chose YOU, of all women, to carry out this mission. Do you accept? It's no accident that a Jewish girl like yourself became queen, darling."

Her response is staggeringly heroic: "Go, gather together all the Jews ... and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days ... I and my maids will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law and I may be killed for it." (Esther 4:14)

Esther planned to put herself on the line to protect God's people. She recognized that by doing what was right, she could calmly leave the consequences up to God, even if it led to her death. Being the smart, God-fearing woman she was, she set aside three days of fasting and prayer prior to jumping in with the metaphorical lions.

Esther is a role model for all women. First, we must surround ourselves with like minded Christians who can pray for us and lead us toward Truth, just like she had her uncle for guidance and the Jews to pray/fast. Secondly, we need extended alone time with God. In the day and age we live in, this is essential, as our minds, thoughts, and desires get shifted on an hourly basis based on the world's crafty fables it feeds us. Alone time with our Maker will be rewarded; He'll shape us into the exact women He wants in His future Kingdom 100 years from now.

Let's become modern-day Esther's and live out His divine plan. He doesn't want to waste us, my dear.
