Bravo, my dear! Your salvation is now sealed, not by anything you have done or will do, but because of what Jesus Christ did on the cross over 2,000 years ago. He really died and rose again, meaning He is still very much alive today! Realize, you have a GOD in Heaven who loves you and wants to spend time with you! The same God who created you, your friends, the ocean, the galaxies... wants to have a date with you every single minute of every day. Christianity is a big deal - it gives you a direct line into the ear of the Master of everything! You have a signed, sealed, and delivered ticket straight into Heaven. Once you die, Jesus will be there waiting for you on the other side. Death is washed away! Your red sins are white as snow. You have a Father who reigns supreme over the entire Earth, honey! This world is not your home - your eternal home is less than 100 years away and will indeed be paradise. (Luke 23:43) He has even prepared a mansion for you. (John 14:2) With a promise like that, what hurt can this world really do to you? Set yourself apart, darling. You are worth it - He died for you to prove it.
Def, honey! We recommend reading it book by book. Choose a book and read a couple chapters each day. That way, you get the full context of what God's saying. For example, read chapters 1 and 2 of Romans tonight, then 3 and 4 tomorrow, etcetera. Allow His Word to sink into your heart and mind. Have a highlighter and pen nearby to mark up anything special. Journaling to God is just as beneficial. Journaling before, during, or after reading His Word makes it much more of a conversation.
So glad you asked - yes! Carl Lentz (New York), Judah Smith (Seattle), Andy and Charles Stanley (Atlanta), Rich and DawnChere Wilkerson (Miami), Brian LaSpada (Malibu), Bill Hybels (Chicago), Dan Carroll (East LA), and Tim Chaddick (London) have wonderful churches and online podcasts.
We decided on the name 'milk and honey' because God led the Israelites out of Egypt's captivity and into the Promised Land flowing of 'milk and honey.' He wants to do the same for you and me - both in this life and especially in eternity! The M&H exec team all met while living in sunny Malibu, California and have a soft spot for basking in God's beautiful creation. We understand the magazine is much greater than lifting up our own names - it's about lifting up the name of Jesus! Welcome to the M&H playground - where all the glory belongs to Christ.
We have grand plans, from seasonal print copies distributed worldwide to hosting womens retreats on Grand Cayman Island. We'll see where God leads us, your guess is as good as ours!
