M&H Life Hacks

M&H Staff

Life is difficult. How we handle the difficulty, however, is what sets us apart as Christians! The apostle Paul was the perfect example; when he was locked up in jail, he decided to sing songs of praise instead of worrying. Once he began praising God, He broke off the chains, opened the gates, and Paul was free!

About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose! (Acts 16)

Like Paul, we can keep our heads up during tough seasons and remember God will never leave or forsake us. When the world tells us to live with a victim-mentality, the story of Paul makes clear we must live with a VICTOR mentality! We are more than conquerers with Christ Jesus - BELIEVE IT! And when it looks as if all Hell has broken loose, we can remain rest assured a better life in Heaven is around the corner; God will surely get us there safely. But in the meantime, how can we handle the worries of this life?

M&H life hacks to the rescue:

  1. Instead of stress eating, become a stress runner.
  2. Instead of binging on Netflix, dive into the Word of God with a sparkly pen, a pink highlighter, Frank Sinatra pandora, and a big cup of chai tea.
  3. Instead of texting an ex when lonely, invite girlfriends over and bake a healthy pie!
  4. Instead of dreading the weekdays, drizzle in fun plans - Monday night spin class, Thursday night froyo.
  5. Instead of hanging out with the "cool crowd," spend time with those you feel 100% comfortable with.
  6. Instead of stressing over tomorrow, write a letter to yourself in 5 years and place it in your desk.
  7. Instead of sitting all day at work, buy a standing varidesk or go for an office stroll every 30 minutes.
  8. Instead of (30+ minutes of) Facebook stalking, skip on the beach, sip coffee at the lighthouse, hike a trail, or read a classic novel.
  9. Instead of settling for Mr. Average, wait for Mr. Everything You Could Ever Want.
  10. Instead of body shaming yourself, remember there is no one to impress but God - who sees your heart.
  11. Instead of bottling things inside, buy a cute Vera Wang journal and write.
  12. Instead of staying out all Saturday night, go to a lovely church Sunday morning.
  13. Instead of getting jealous over the accomplishments of others, chase your dreams knowing everyone is on a different journey.

We may not always see a clear light at the end of the tunnel, but God always provides a trap door. Don't live in fear or worry - live in peace, darling girl.
