You Are Enough - A Brief Encouragement

My friend, why do you get so distracted by all you are not or don't have? My friend, why are you trying to build your self-image from the opinions of others? My friend, why do you have so much fear of what others think? My friend, why do you let that person define your worth?
You are much more. You are enough.
Too often, you allow your worth to be based on what others say or even how they treat you. It's such a dangerous and dark place to be. You place your worth in your career, relationship status, body image, things you may have, or even in past mistakes or hurt.
I get it. Somedays it feels like you are dragging your heels. Striving to put one foot in front of the other.
The altercation for self-worth is an arduous battle. If you let it, it can (and will) destroy you.
You can't only know you are enough, you must believe it. The one true authority on your self-worth is Jesus Christ and Him alone. Period.
The beautiful thing is, you don't have to earn any of these worldly "goals" to obtain His love. Nor can anything others say or how they treat you change that!
You don't need their approval. The billions of words from others can never measure up to HIS.
Believing isn't just for those days where it comes smoothly. It's on the days you feel the exact opposite; when you’re at your darkest time but choose to believe so anyway.
He died on the cross with you in His heart and for you to have life.
Why is it so hard to let go of worldly things but easily put Him aside? The people and things of this world are not everything - but He alone is EVERYTHING.
My friend, you are not defined by this world. You are a living example that light will always overcome any darkness.
I know you’re afraid to let go of the pieces of how it was supposed to be. It's okay to let go of all those pieces, you were never meant to be a bookshelf for people to place their insecurities and brokenness.
Let go and come home to Him. Wake up with warming tears of restoration and pure joy running down your cheeks, with the reassuring and endless love of Jesus Christ, that one day you will see all the beauty you bring into this world. All that He's made you to be.
A heart as beautiful as yours is enough. Choose to live in that truth every single day. You were always enough.
